Location: Racine, WI area (on-site, aluminum castings foundry)
Job Summary
A molder prepares and assembles molds for aluminum castings and operates molding equipment. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sand molds according to production specifications.
- Pack, ram, and compact molding sand to achieve required mold strength and dimensional accuracy.
- Set and secure cores, inserts, chills, and other mold components as required
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of molding equipment and work areas.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with preventive maintenance and cleaning of foundry equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in high-temperature environments.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including heat-resistant clothing, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
- Manufacturing/foundry environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, molten metal, and moving machinery.
Green sand molding. The line is fairly automated with some lifting. Molding or foundry experience preferred; will train.
Details
- Pay: $20-22/hr to start, depending on experience
- Shift: 1st shift, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (8.5 hrs on site, 30 min unpaid lunch)
- Contract position with a direct-hire opportunity after 520 hours
- PPE: safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat or soft cap
