Senior Technician Pipefitter, T23, 1st Shift

Position:
Senior Technician, Pipefitter. You will follow Preventative Maintenance plans, contribute to process improvements, respond to emergency equipment breakdowns, prepare complete and accurate systems records, and apply LEAN principles.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts.

• Make proper judgments to determine appropriate actions when intervention is required on equipment and resolve malfunctions.
• Work independently and in team settings; participate in team meetings, consensus decisions, problem solving, root cause analysis, and performance appraisal processes.
• Demonstrate willingness and ability to learn, teach others, and take ownership of manufacturing process aspects.
• Show a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment (production machines and process equipment) using strong troubleshooting skills.
• Communicate with internal and external contacts to exchange work-related information.
• Stand, walk, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, lift and use hands and fingers for varied tasks; withstand working in high places and confined spaces.
• Apply current knowledge of pipe fitting with strong pipe fitting skills.
• May include daily management, resource management, spare parts inventory, or maintenance skill set development.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, including repair maintenance of steam & condensate systems and facility water & sewer systems
• Minimum 1 year of experience assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment (welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, threading)
• Minimum 1 year of experience attaching pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment

• Inspect, test installed systems and pipelines using gauges, hydrostatic testing, etc.
• Competency in blueprints and P& for repairs to facility and production equipment.
• State welding certifications; working towards within 2 years.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation; ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and solve recurring technical problems with limited support.
• Cut, thread, and fit pipe to specifications; familiarity with gear, diaphragm, vane, piston pumps and their repair/ rebuild.
• Measure, mark, lay out pipe systems and related equipment per blueprints; plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair.
• Select pipe sizes and materials; install supports and hydraulic components; cut and bore holes; modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
• Install automatic controls to regulate pipe systems and inspect work sites for obstructions.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas as needed.
