Position: Diesel Technician ASAP

Diesel Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks; including diagnostics, service repairs and preventative maintenance associated with maintaining a working fleet that meets DOT requirements. The successful candidate will be self‑motivated and proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, as well as execute the repairs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate repairs.
  • Collaborate with drivers to troubleshoot faulty equipment.
  • Use technical knowledge to repair company vehicles properly and cost efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspection (PMI), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment including engine repair and chassis maintenance.
  • Work independently on equipment that requires a high level of skill with hydraulics, electrical, and diagnostics.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
  • Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts.
  • Respond to unscheduled service calls quickly and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge on existing equipment, as well as reading and understanding equipment manuals.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • 5 years of working on diesel trucks, construction equipment, tractor/trailers, agriculture equipment or dump trucks preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Welding experience desired, but not required.
  • Ability to multitask & juggle priorities.
  • Problem‑solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have own tools.
