Job Responsibilities

The Club Director supervises and oversees the overall daily operations of the Club to support Youth Development Outcomes consistent with organizational goals and the mission. This position is responsible for staff management and development, programming impact, grant implementation and reporting, and community outreach. This position requires high energy and enthusiasm for BGCK’s mission. Successful candidates will be able to build strong professional relationships with staff, Club members and parents, and the community.

  • Youth Development
    • Create a Club environment that supports and facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes in Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship
    • Provide guidance and role modeling to all members
    • Provide on-site supervision to members to ensure a healthy and safe environment
    • Maintain a positive outlook and attitude with members, and provide constructive feedback on their efforts and progress
    • Assist members in building conflict resolution skill and teaching them to accept responsibility for their actions
  • Supervision and Leadership
    • Oversee all staff within Club site
    • Recruit, manage, and provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers
    • Organize regularly scheduled meetings with staff members
    • Ensure that effective and transparent communication occurs within the Club
    • Communicate clear and achievable expectations to staff members
    • Ensure that reviews and coaching occur on consistent and timely basis with all staff
    • Help to create training programs and opportunities for staff members in conjunction with the VP of Operations and HR Director
  • Administrative
    • Oversee the administrative functions of the Club, including; financial transactions, membership enrollment, data collection, and program attendance
    • Ensure all grant reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner
    • Oversee and ensure grant requirements are being met
    • Attend and assist with organizational wide staff meetings and trainings
    • Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups
  • Strategic Planning
    • Evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests
    • Lead strategic change in efforts to make improvements on the Club experience for Club Members
    • Coordinate and implement recruitment efforts to increase annual memberships and average daily attendance
    • Manage Club financial resources assisting in the development of annual budgets and control expenditures against budget
    • Secure membership dollars from local partners to meet membership financial goals
  • Community Outreach
    • Attend local community meetings as needed and be up to date on community happenings and events
    • Represent BGCK at community events when needed
    • Attending BGCK fundraising events as needed
    • Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services, and activities within the Club and community
    • Ensure that consistent communication occurs between Club operations and Administration regarding promotion and marketing related to club activities and programming, including special events and community outreach efforts
Additional Responsibilities
  • May be required to drive a Club vehicle as needed
  • May be required to run program areas as needed
  • Travel between Clubs and/or the Admin Office for trainings and meetings
  • All other duties as assigned
