- Responsible for the overall functioning of the hospital during after‑hours and weekend operations.
- Assign appropriate numbers and mix of staff based on the staffing plan, census, and patient acuity.
- Supervise staff in all clinical and administrative matters, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, practice standards, and policies.
- Coordinate with other department staff or administrator to address urgent non‑nursing issues during after‑hours and weekend operations.
- Assist in patient nursing care, addressing the spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs of patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established nursing policies.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Graduate of an approved nursing school.
- Current RN licensure or work permit in the state of Kentucky.
- Medium skill level in math and language; high level in reasoning.
- Preferred knowledge of developmental stages for children, adolescents, geriatrics, and adults.
- Preferred psychiatric nursing experience; knowledge of crisis intervention, risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age‑specific growth and development, and crisis/behavior management.
- CPR Certification.
