House Supervisor (RN)

Job DescriptionThe House Supervisor is a key member of the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System nursing team. The House Supervisor is responsible for the overall functioning of the hospital during after hours and weekend operations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrates competence in the human stages of growth and development.
Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140‑bed hospital offering inpatient services for female adolescents, adults, older adults, military/veterans, and their families. The facility includes a spacious cafeteria, gymnasium, art/activity room, group rooms, classroom and other areas to create a pleasant atmosphere for patients and families. Staff includes psychiatrists, addictionologists, licensed therapists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists, teachers and registered nurses 24 hours a day.
Responsibilities- Assign appropriate numbers and mix of staff as guided by the staffing plan based on census and patient acuity.
- Supervise staff in all clinical and administrative matters, ensuring that accreditation standards, practice standards, and policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
- Respond to urgent non‑nursing issues that arise during after hours and weekend operations by interacting with other department staff or the administrator.
- Assist in patient nursing care to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs of patients served.
- Administer medications and treatment in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Education/
Experience:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Current RN licensure or work permit in the state of Kentucky. Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred but not required. Must possess knowledge of developmental stages and the social, cultural, and environmental influences on patients and families.
Skills: Medium skill level in Math and Language and a high level in reasoning. Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses, basic chemical dependency, age‑specific growth and development, and crisis and behavior management.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky. CPR certification.
