Job Description

BAE Systems, a leading defense contractor and a stable Fortune 500 company, is hiring a Logistics Manager I for our GOCO facilities located in Radford, VA. The role will manage the Shipping & Receiving Department and report to the Sr. Manager of Logistics. The individual will act as an integral member of the Ordnance Systems Inc. Supply Chain team and will be accountable for meeting operational goals.

• Full‑time, on‑site position in Radford, VA.
• Up to 10% travel required.

• Manage Shipping & Receiving Department for multiple warehouse locations.
• Support Supply Chain goals and objectives.
• Ensure prompt deliveries to work stations and assigned drop zones.
• Develop and maintain KPIs to monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR regulations.
• Address and report missing shipments with appropriate carriers.
• Support strategic freight program and vendor‑managed inventory.
• Meet assigned operational budget.
• Promote continuous improvement in Supply Chain processes.
• Manage workload to support the needs of the plant.
• Promote employee development.
• Develop and maintain appropriate procedures to ensure FAR/DFARS compliance.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of work experience (or equivalent).
• 1–3 years Supply Chain experience.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Shipping & Receiving experience.
• Knowledge of MMAS and FAR/DFARS compliance.
• Experience with LEAN Six Sigma.
• Transportation experience working with carriers and reporting losses.
• Experience working with a unionized workforce (plus).
