Job DescriptionAssistant or Associate Professor, 9 Month Tenure Track - Possibility of Interior Design Coordinator. Rank and position to be determined by qualifications.
Teaching areas are flexible and are determined based upon department need but may include both upper and lower division interior design courses, both lecture and studio-based. Teaching responsibilities could include: design foundations and conceptual design, residential and commercial design, computer-aided design (AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Revit, Sketch Up and Enscape), building systems and codes and making in design. Non-teaching responsibilities include advising students;
assisting with departmental, college, and university activities; participating in scholarly research and/or creative activities; and the possibility of becoming the interior design coordinator with possible course release.
A minimum of a Master's degree in Interior Design or related discipline is required. Must be able to use computer software programs related to the industry.
Preferred QualificationsTerminal degree and/or PhD preferred. Professional certification and/or scholarship in one's area of expertise and professional practice desirable.
Demonstrated teaching expertise, professional practice experience, and NCIDQ preferred. Experience with current computer presentation software (AutoCAD, Adobe CS, Revit, Sketch Up and Enscape) is desirable. Experience with Space Planning desirable. Must be able to use computer software programs related to the industry. NCIDQ, EDAC and/or LEED preferred.
