Job Description

Radford University (RU) invites applications for Tenure Track Faculty in the School of Social Work to begin August 2026. This is a 9‑month Academic Year position with the possibility of summer teaching.

Primary responsibilities will be: teaching courses in the BSW and MSW programs in both the Radford and Roanoke social work program options (includes online and evenings), advising and recruitment, university service and professional contributions.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in social work or related field, and an MSW from a CSWE‑accredited program.
  • ABD candidates whose degree completion is within nine months of the hire date will be considered but will be hired at the rank of instructor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in social work, evidence of an active scholarly agenda, and demonstrated ability to teach across the social work curriculum.
  • Experience with distance education.
  • At least two years post‑MSW social work direct practice experience.
  • Eligibility for LCSW‑VA.
