Adjunct Faculty - Management

Job Description

The management department is looking for adjuncts to provide face-to-face instruction for courses in Operations Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Introduction to Management, Business Communications, and other management courses as required. Successful candidates will have a passion for teaching and working with students. Successful candidates should be well organized, have good communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn to use technology to enhance learning and administer classes.

Candidates with significant industry experience and previous teaching experience with outstanding evaluations preferred. Candidates with strong industry experience considered but limited teaching experience considered.

Radford University is located on a beautiful campus adjoining the New River. The management department is part of the Davis College of Business and Economics, an AACSB-accredited college, located in a new building with state-of-the-art technology. Our department features small classes, experiential learning, and high levels of engagement between faculty and students.

Adjunct faculty positions supplement the faculty of a department wherever additional faculty are needed. Adjunct faculty hold, as defined by their letter of appointment, without eligibility for tenure; where authorized by the Dean, adjunct appointments may be renewed. Adjunct appointments do not guarantee course assignments.

Specific responsibilities of adjunct faculty are given in their letter of appointment. The specific starting and expiration dates for appointments are noted in their letter of appointment. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduates in the area of the candidate’s specialization. Selected candidate may be required to teach in RU’s Core Curriculum as needed. Adjunct faculty shall be evaluated in every course, including summer school.

All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.

Previous experience teaching or working in management.

If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, must be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application.
