Job DescriptionThe chief objective of this position is to provide faculty instruction for courses UNIV 100 / 150. UNIV 100 / 150 Faculty Instructors play a vital role in supporting first‑year student success and transition to university life. This position involves co‑teaching a first‑year seminar course alongside a trained student Peer Instructor. Faculty Instructors provide guidance, mentorship, and academic instruction to help students develop essential skills such as time management, critical thinking, academic resilience, and engagement with campus resources.
Instructors foster a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment while modeling strong academic and professional behaviors. They collaborate closely with campus partners, attend required training sessions, and participate in ongoing course improvement efforts. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys during a critical transition period.
All UNIV 100 / 150 faculty must have at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Must be available to teach in‑person in Radford and Roanoke, Virginia.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous experience teaching;
- Strong communication skills;
- Experience assessing classes;
- Classroom management skills.
