Job SummaryFilling every occasion with great food and service, we are looking for a Catering Manager for our premier catering department at Radford University. The manager will develop and drive catering solutions to meet our customer needs while working closely with the Executive Chef on menu development. Events range from coffee services to exclusive VIP dining occasions to Presidential events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise all catering events.
- Oversee catering event operations—including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility‑related activities.
- Collaborate with the Chef to create menus.
- Train catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
- Track and monitor labor and food cost for each event.
- Communicate at all levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels and maintain excellent client relationships.
- Assist in responsibility for all food‑service‑related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year at the management level.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, or related food service operations.
- Required catering experience.
- Knowledge of food and catering trends focused on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet.
- Serv Safe® Certified.
