Job Description # Network Engineer
* Collaborate with engineering teams to design, implement, and maintain the network architecture for a multi-tenant private cloud environment.
* Develop, deploy, and maintain
** Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
** for network provisioning and sustainment.
* Support application onboarding by provisioning network foundations for customer environments using automation tools.
* Perform daily network administration, including patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
* Monitor network health and utilization, proactively identifying and resolving performance or capacity issues.
* Implement network hardening measures aligned with industry best practices and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
* Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for complex network issues within the hosting platform.
* Create and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
* Provide on-call support for after-hours production incidents.
* Recommend improvements to enhance security, scalability, and performance across network environments.
* ** 5+ years
** of experience as a senior-level network engineer in enterprise environments.
* Expertise in
** VMware NSX
** design, deployment, and management.
* Strong proficiency in LAN/WAN networking, routing, switching, and network security.
* Hands-on experience with
** Palo Alto Firewalls**,
** Cisco Routers**, and
** Cisco Nexus & Catalyst switches**.
* Familiarity with VMware technologies:
** NSX, vSAN, vSphere, ESXi, Aria Automation**.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across network and virtualization layers.
* Experience with automation tools such as
** Ansible
* * or
** Terraform**, and scripting languages (Python, Power Shell).
* Solid understanding of
** TCP/IP**,
** BGP**,
** OSPF**,
** VLANs**, and
** MPLS**.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Proven ability to work across the full technology stack: network, storage, server, and applications.
* Knowledge of
** DoD STIGs
** and vulnerability management processes.
* Experience with container platforms and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
* Understanding of Kubernetes networking (CNI) and storage (CSI).
* Familiarity with Helm charts, container image management, and Git Ops tools (Argo CD, Flux).
