RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the senior lead for all database administration and engineering activities in support of customer applications.
- Architect, install, and configure enterprise-level database environments, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), Postgre
SQL, MySQL, and cloud-based databases. - Manage the full lifecycle of database systems—ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and scalability.
- Schedule and coordinate database deployments, upgrades, and new installations across development, testing, and production environments.
- Develop and enforce security standards for databases to ensure compliance with ALTESS and Army cybersecurity requirements.
- Perform Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and document results in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Create and maintain proactive database monitoring tools and dashboards to support operational excellence and early problem detection.
- Ensure all database environments are properly patched, backed up, and compliant with STIGs, IAVM, and other DoD cybersecurity mandates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to troubleshoot issues and provide database solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve the efficiency, reliability, and security of all database platforms.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Extensive experience in database administration and architecture.
- At least five (5) years of experience supporting Application Server architecture within a large enterprise environment.
- Proven expertise with enterprise database platforms including Oracle, MSSQL, Postgre
SQL, MySQL, and cloud-hosted database solutions. - Deep understanding of core database administration responsibilities, such as performance tuning, backup/recovery, access control, and capacity planning.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python and Power Shell is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to interface professionally with customers, including troubleshooting and solution design.
Clearance
- Secret – IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive Clearance or Tier 3 (T3) investigation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM), and related cybersecurity practices.
