Job OverviewPart Time Physician Advisor at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway, New Jersey. The role collaborates with local and corporate administration, medical staff, and case management leadership to provide a comprehensive clinical resource management program, including utilization management, progression of care management, social work services, and complex discharge planning.
Responsibilities- Establishing and maintaining a standardized practice for Physician Advisor Services:
- Throughput/Length of Stay
- Observation Hours
- Next Site of Care planning
- Leading multidisciplinary rounds
- Participates in the review and development of medical guidelines and policies geared toward quality and efficiency of care
- Meets Defined Length of Stay Goals
- Medicare LOS to align with Geometric/Arithmetic Benchmarks
- Commercial LOS
- Meets Organizational Goals for Hours in Observation
- Meets Goals related to Next Site of Care
- Board Certified/Board Eligible and Valid NJ License
- 2+ years of Clinical Practice Experience
- Previous Utilization Management Experience in Acute Care Setting
- Prior leadership experience required
- CHCQM certified
- Knowledge of CMS Regulations and Nationally Accepted Guidelines such as MCG and Inter Qual
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Proficient Computer Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills with Ability to Multi-task and Set Priorities

The anticipated salary range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000 per year. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and experience.

Founded in 1917, the hospital provides healthcare services that help patients get better and stay better. RWJUH Rahway is unique in the region as an acute care hospital that also houses a long‑term acute care hospital and a rehabilitation unit, nestled in a residential setting. The Emergency Department cares for more than 32,000 patients per year, providing care for life‑threatening conditions such as heart attack and stroke.
