The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

The
Support Aide
position is responsible to clean patient rooms, offices, corridors, utility rooms and other assigned areas of the hospital. Their assignments include dusting, wiping, polishing and mopping assigned areas of the hospital. They also collect soiled linen from patient areas and dispose of the linen to the dirty utility room for pick up. This position will assist with room and furniture set up within the hospital along with stripping and refinishing floors, operating the Chariot burnishing machine, and shampooing carpets.

• High School Diploma preferred but not required

• Per Diem is based on the operational need of the department. Flexibility in availability is required.
• Weekend and holiday requirements

• Cleans patient rooms, offices, corridors, utility rooms and other assigned areas
• Dusts surfaces that collect dust, wipes clean all furniture, cleans and polishes metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms
• Required to be on their feet most of the work day to include bending, stooping and stretching
• Observes in daily performance and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building fixtures, responds to all hospital fire and disaster drills. Buff or burnish floors with 17” and 20” machines including rotary buffer
• Collects soiled linen from patient areas to dirty utility room. Transport by pushing the cart to lower level soiled linen room for laundry pick-up
• Collects and stores medical waste and may be required to collect, replace and store sharp containers
• Perform other duties as may be assigned
• Dust mops, damp mops and vacuums carpets in all areas of the hospital
• Empties trash/waste baskets, removes trash and may transport trash from utility rooms and other collection points to proper pick up areas
• Performs a variety to special projects such as cleaning air induction units, light fixtures, windows, etc.
• Interacts and teams in a positive manner with coworkers all in the same departments to accomplish the goals and objectives of the hospital for effective patient care
• Move furniture and set up meeting rooms
• Assist in the cleaning of any spills observed or requested. Maintains all assigned equipment in a clean and efficient working manner
• Works with a constant concern for the safety of all persons (patients, visitors, etc.)
