Posting SummaryRutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Per Diem UCHC Technician I for the East Jersey State Prison. The Technician I participates as a member of the clinical and administrative medical team at the prison.
Responsibilities- Takes vital signs, height and weight, and documents them in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assists the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for examination.
- Obtains specimen collection and handling, including drawing blood.
- Assists with cleaning, sterilization, and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
- Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit and examination rooms; aggregates medication orders and forwards them to the pharmacy provider or local pharmacy.
Salary: $18.45 per hour

- CPR Certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation between sites
- Physically capable of performing CPR for at least 10 minutes and assisting in lifting/rotating patients who cannot ambulate (up to 50 pounds)
- Approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements
As a first responder, you must have the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and be able to lift and rotate patients who are unable to ambulate, up to 50 pounds.
