Job Description

Role

Summary:

The Director of Global Market Access & Reimbursement for Precision Medicine Diagnostics will lead the development and execution of global reimbursement strategies and oversee regional and local implementation to ensure timely and sustainable access to diagnostic technologies supporting biomarker-guided therapies. The candidate will work closely with diagnostic partners as well as internal cross‑functional stakeholders in market access, medical, commercial and regional/country teams to build a robust strategy and pull through on the execution plan.

Primary

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive global access and reimbursement (A&R) strategies for companion diagnostics (CDx) and non‑CDx technologies, ensuring alignment with pipeline and in‑line assets. Collaborate cross‑functionally to shape evidence generation and payer engagement plans that support market access objectives.
  • Lead and guide regional and local teams to adapt global A&R strategies to country‑specific reimbursement pathways, including coverage, coding, and payment mechanisms. Ensure local organizations are adequately resourced and structured to support diagnostic launches, funding strategies, and patient access programs.
  • Oversee the development of global value dossiers, health technology assessment (HTA) submissions, and pricing frameworks for diagnostics. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate diagnostic access, reimbursement success, and market uptake. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving HTA environments and reimbursement landscapes.
  • Collaborate with Health Economics and Decision Science (HEDS) teams to develop economic models demonstrating the value of diagnostic tests. Assess the difference between diagnostic costs and reimbursement payouts to optimize pricing and funding strategies.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and diagnostic teams to implement training and awareness programs that facilitate diagnostic reimbursement. Continuously assess diagnostic access pathways, identifying drivers and barriers, and determine whether to leverage existing coding or pursue new coding strategies to enhance reimbursement.
  • Continuously assess the global and regional reimbursement landscape, including coverage environments, fee schedules, and differences between national and regional healthcare systems. Identify emerging trends, payer policies, and regulatory changes that impact diagnostic access and reimbursement strategies.
  • Work closely with clinical development, marketing, regulatory, and policy teams to ensure diagnostic access strategies are fully integrated with clinical trial design, indication development, and commercial launch plans. Align diagnostic reimbursement pathways with clinical and marketing strategies to maximize patient access and commercial success. Collaborate with external Dx Companies to jointly develop and execute strategies to establish and implement reimbursement for novel biomarkers and technologies.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in health economics, public health, life sciences, or related field (MBA, MPH preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience in market access, health economics, or reimbursement strategy, ideally with diagnostics or precision medicine
  • Deep understanding of global diagnostic landscape, reimbursement systems, and policy environments
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership and communication skills
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with biomarker‑driven oncology products
  • Proven track record of successful Dx dossier creation and submissions and payer negotiations
  • Prior experience collaborating with partners to drive and obtain diagnostic reimbursement
  • Familiarity with digital pathology, ctDNA/MRD, multiplex IHC, or other emerging diagnostic technologies
