• Manage assigned accounts.
• Call prospective customers and establish buying cycles, needs, and create a customer‑supplier relationship.
• Increase sales in respective accounts.
• Prepare sales information for customers.
• Establish buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for assigned accounts.
• Secure and place orders considering delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment.
• Determine client requirements and expectations to recommend products, services, and solutions.
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
• Provide accurate information regarding availability and pricing of in-stock and non-stock items.
• Proactively recommend items needed to increase efficiency and improve transaction profitability.
• Increase sales and average order size by cross‑selling, up‑selling, add‑on sales, and promotional items.
• Educate clients about product terminology, features and benefits to improve sales and satisfaction.
• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
• Contact clients following sales to ensure ongoing satisfaction and resolve complaints.
• Stay current on client preferences, local codes, product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, and trade journals.
• Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with team members.
• Maintain proficiency in using personal computer, Tour De Force and other common office equipment and software.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Present a professional image to clients and vendors.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

This job operates primarily in the field and in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses Tour De Force and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, document scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. The position is primarily driving to and from client locations, walking and standing in various environments for extended periods. Telephone and computer work is frequent. The employee may stand, walk, use hands, reach, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Proper lifting techniques are required.

• 5+ years of experience in outside B2B sales or related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and Tour De Force.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing and dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Works well in a team setting with limited supervision.
• Prior experience in industrial sales and/or distribution.
