Job SummaryThis full‑time role requires expert automotive knowledge, advanced sourcing abilities, and strong customer service skills. You will manage DIY services, inventory processes, and collaborate with customers to resolve automotive issues.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customers via in‑store visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Key holder duties: task assignment, safety, open/close responsibilities.
- Assist with store inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, and parking lot.
- Provide DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs).
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY.
Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Retail Parts Pro
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust).
- Strong written and spoken English;
Spanish a plus. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Availability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends.
3–5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability in customer transaction fulfillment.
Education & CredentialsMust have a valid driver’s license. ASE certification preferred but not required.
