Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing processes, visual aids, control drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). Basic math and measurement skills preferred.
Experience Requirements Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, or machine operation experience preferred. Experience operating winding equipment, production machinery, or industrial tools is a plus. Experience with soldering, coil assembly, or electrical component manufacturing preferred. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to follow technical specifications and work instructions. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Capabilities Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the shift. Extensive hand use requiring strong manual dexterity and repetitive motion. Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching. Ability to work in a production environment with varying levels of noise and activity. Ability to safely use lifting assistance equipment when handling materials weighing more than 50 pounds.
Job Duties Wind coils to precise specifications while meeting quality, efficiency, and production standards. Select and prepare materials, tools, wire gauges, insulators, and equipment based on production requirements. Set up, adjust, and operate coil winding machines, bench lathes, and semi-automated winding equipment. Adjust wire guides, tension settings, limit switches, arbors, and related machine components to ensure product accuracy. Insert insulation materials, apply tape, splice and solder wires, and perform coil-forming operations using hydraulic presses.
Produce prototype coils and assist with troubleshooting manufacturing issues to improve product performance and quality. Review drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to ensure accurate production. Participate in inventory activities and support production goals and deadlines. Maintain a clean and organized work area by following 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards. Follow all safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
