Overview

An audit associate at Frost PLLC works with experienced staff and audit partners to provide objective evaluations of clients’ financial statements. The role involves fieldwork for operational and financial audits across the country, preparing work papers with conclusions and recommendations for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate high technical proficiency, client satisfaction, and staff motivation.
  • Prepare complex client correspondence and maintain client contact throughout the year.
  • Monitor time spend on engagements and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Assist with audit fieldwork, conduct second reviews of staff, senior, and supervisor work, and provide notes for revisions.
  • Develop positive working relationships with client executive staff and exhibit advanced understanding of computer systems used in audit preparation.
  • Maintain a minimum of 40 hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) each calendar year.
  • Effectively exhibit communication, listening, and problem-solving skills, including asking questions.
  • Stay informed on current topics, industry trends, and continually expand knowledge base.
  • Serve as a leader within the audit group, foster teamwork, and provide resolutions for problems and issues.
  • Comply with firm practice management procedures and systems, and provide initial quality control reviews of audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Fully licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience is required.
  • Experience in public accounting, auditing, and working within manufacturing, agribusiness, and related industries is preferred.
  • Experience with audit software and prior mid- to large-size firm experience is preferred.
  • Ability to travel nationally to client sites (40-60 nights per calendar year).
  • Current, valid driver’s license and ability to work extended hours during busy season.

Selection Process
  • Initial phone screening of qualified candidates.
  • Panel interview with Human Resources and partner and staff.
  • Secondary panel interview if multiple candidates advance from the initial panel.
