We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Tax Return Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will prepare, review, and file accurate and compliant tax returns for individuals and businesses. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure they understand their tax obligations and maximize applicable deductions and credits.

This position requires strong analytical skills, deep tax knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently during peak filing periods.

Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
  • Review financial statements, payroll data, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify tax savings opportunities and ensure clients receive all eligible credits and deductions.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify information, gather required documents, and answer tax-related questions.
  • Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and changes affecting client tax obligations.
  • Assist with resolving IRS or state notices and support clients through audits when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience preparing individual and/or business tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Drake, Lacerte, Tax Slayer, Ultra Tax, Turbo Tax, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients during peak seasons.
  • Strong communication skills and client-service mindset.
Preferred
  • EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA, or working toward certification.
  • Experience with multiple tax filings (1040, 1020, W-2, 1099, quarterly filings).
