Accounting Manager

We are recruiting an Accounting Manager for a well-established company in the Raleigh area. This is a hands on role to include leading the monthly close, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing and developing accounting staff, and working closely with other accounting and business leaders. Responsibilities Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and related accounting activities.

Manage and develop accounting staff, providing direction, coaching, and support with priorities and deadlines.

Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, profitability analysis, and other financial reporting.

Oversee general ledger activity and account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and maintain accurate account balances.

Ensure revenue and expenses are properly recorded and allocated across the business.

Coordinate year-end schedules and documentation for external audit, tax, and other compliance activities.

Oversee accounting systems and support future upgrades and system implementations.

Improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Partner with finance leadership and other departments on accounting matters, business needs, and special projects.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA preferred.
4 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting professionals looking to make the move into industry are also encouraged to apply.

Previous experience managing or developing accounting staff with a willingness to remain hands-on is a plus Strong accounting, Excel, financial systems, analytical, and communication skills.

Experience with process improvement or system implementations is a plus.
