Provide administrative and office support to the Northampton County Extension Director and other staff. Cooperate with NCCE and county leaders to accomplish assigned responsibilities in agriculture, natural resources, 4‑H, and family and consumer science. Manage county budget, maintain grant budgets, and facilitate communication across county departments.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the County Extension Director in developing and managing the county and NCSU Extension budget and related financial procedures.
- Submit volunteer background checks and maintain records.
- Manage electronic travel, leave, and reporting systems.
- Conduct office support duties: filing, purchasing, office supplies, mail processing, and mass mailings.
- Provide customer service to call‑in and walk‑in clientele.
- Market Extension programs and success: create reports, maintain website, social media, and updates of communication outlets.
- Develop educational materials and newsletters.
- Assist agents in creating program announcements and event promotion materials.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduation and two years of related experience; or two‑year secretarial science or business administration program graduate with one year of related experience.
Required Skills: Extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Suite, and willing to learn new software. Strong organization, multi‑tasking, time‑management, written and oral communication, confidentiality, and dependable, prompt, and efficient performance.
Preferred Qualifications- Accounting experience, including budget monitoring and analysis.
- Customer service skills, ability to interface with other agencies.
- Human resource skills for interview, hire, training processes.
- Experience coordinating meetings, events, personnel, and volunteers.
Work Schedule: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday–Friday |

Salary: Minimum $34,424 plus commensurate with experience.
