Join #Wake County GSA and supervise a team that performs the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on electrical systems, fire alarm systems, Generators and UPS systems across Wake County’s inventory.
Essential Functions- Manage all phases of work performed by multiple shifts as well as contractors and ensure all work adheres to life safety, code compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide professional and technical guidance and oversight to business programs and staff with regards to program management, service delivery and contracted services. Provide operational improvements through maintenance, training and research, job estimating, safety checks, and job scheduling
- Oversees fiscal, budgetary and personnel responsibilities for the Electrical business unit and assigned staff
- Establish the scope as well as estimate the project budget, design, schedule, and implementation of electrical projects and equipment replacement.
- Review plans and specifications, attend construction meetings, perform inspections, and other related tasks
- Maintain accurate records and reports for critical systems including Generators, UPS systems and Fire alarm systems

Position is responsible for facilities operating 24/7 and may be required to work outside the standard schedule as needed.

The Basics (RequiredEducation and Experience )
- High school diploma or GED
- Seven years of job-related experience
- Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (PreferredEducation and Experience )
- Eight years of experience in Electrical, or Fire alarm trade
- North Carolina Electrical License
- Ability to oversee fiscal and budgetary functions and understand accounting and financial systems for budgeting and processing payments
- Ability to lead a large team (10+) and contractors
- Understanding of Electrical Systems as well as North Carolina Electrical and Fire Alarm codes.
- Ability to communicate and create effective documentation identifying problems and recommended resolutions from existing data sets.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and PPE to conform with OSHA requirements.
