The Opportunity

As a Sales and Tender Manager supporting Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business in Canada, you will help grow sales and secure profitable contracts across the power systems market. In this role, you will identify and qualify new business opportunities, manage the complete tendering process, and develop proposal strategies that address customer needs and project requirements. Working closely with engineering, project management, finance, legal, and operational teams, you will help deliver competitive solutions for complex high- and medium-voltage power system projects.

You will also build customer relationships, assess market trends, and monitor competitive developments to support commercial growth and business strategy. This position offers an opportunity to combine technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and customer engagement while contributing to reliable, safe, and high-performing energy infrastructure projects across Canada.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with growth priorities.
  • Manage the end-to-end tender process from opportunity review to proposal submission.
  • Develop proposal strategies that support profitable contracts and successful customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate activities across legal, technical, finance, engineering, project management, and development teams.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships while understanding and supporting their business needs.
  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Support contract negotiations while ensuring compliance with company policies and requirements.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and business performance updates for management.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • MBA is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated engineering, sales, and/or proposal experience within an engineering, project, or service business.
  • Experience managing sales activities, complex tenders, and customer relationships.
  • Experience with High and Medium Voltage Power Systems and related maintenance procedures preferred.
  • Sound understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to both internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required; fluency in English is required and additional languages are considered an asset.
