Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent with a strong background in structural concrete work, particularly in the construction and maintenance of dams, outlet structures, and labyrinth spillways. The ideal candidate will oversee concrete operations, ensure quality control, manage project timelines, and lead a team of skilled workers to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities- Project Oversight:
Lead and manage all concrete‑related activities on‑site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols. - Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a team of concrete workers, subcontractors, and laborers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. - Planning and Scheduling:
Develop detailed work plans and schedules for concrete placement and finishing, coordinating with other trades and project management to ensure timely project completion. - Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections of concrete work, ensuring adherence to structural specifications and industry standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary. - Materials Management:
Oversee the procurement and delivery of concrete materials, ensuring optimal quality and timely availability on‑site. - Safety Management:
Promote a culture of safety, conducting safety meetings, training sessions, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols. - Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including labor hours, material usage, and project progress. Provide regular updates to project management. - Problem Solving:
Address any issues that arise during construction, utilizing problem‑solving skills to find effective solutions that minimize delays and maintain project integrity. - Collaboration:
Work closely with project engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure design specifications are met and any changes are communicated effectively.
- Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete construction, with specific experience in dams and labyrinth spillways. - Certifications:
OSHA certification and other relevant construction safety training preferred. - Skills:
- Strong knowledge of concrete mix design and application.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions.
- Capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment as necessary.
