Position Summary:

The Construction Superintendent (commercial/retail) is responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations, managing field personnel and subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and keeping projects on schedule and within budget. You will be the main point of contact on the job site, ensuring clear communication between the field and the project management team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all on-site construction activities and personnel.
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, materials, and inspections.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and site logistics.
• Maintain daily logs and project documentation.
• Lead site safety meetings and enforce safety protocols.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and clients.
• Solve field issues proactively and escalate when necessary.
• Conduct site walkthroughs and ensure adherence to plans, specs, and codes.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and a strong commitment to job site safety.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.
• Proficient with project management and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Buildertrend, etc.).
• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
