A highly respected and well-established general contractor in the Raleigh market is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects and mentor project teams. This is a key leadership role for a construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will have full responsibility for the successful execution of large-scale or multiple commercial construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and strategic oversight from preconstruction through closeout, while maintaining strong client relationships and driving team performance
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for multiple or large-scale commercial construction projects
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams
- Oversee subcontractor selection, contract negotiations, change orders, and risk management
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Collaborate with preconstruction and estimating teams during early project phases
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, challenges, and opportunities
- 8+ years of experience with a general contractor in commercial construction
- Proven track record managing complex, ground-up and/or large renovation projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Deep understanding of construction means and methods, contracts, and scheduling
- Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
