Temporary-Shop Technician (University Theatre, Costumes, Scenery)

NC State’s University Theatre is currently looking for a Shop Technician that will assist the Costume Shop, Scene Shop, or Electrics Shop Manager with the execution of designs in the respective shops on an as-needed basis.

Costume Shop Duties include: sewing (by machine and by hand), alterations, repairs, ironing, laundry, fittings, costume crafts, and other assignments based upon skill set and shop needs.

Scene Shop Duties include: safe use of power and hand tools, basic carpentry and construction, painting, refurbishing and refinishing of furniture and set pieces, upholstery, and other assignments based upon skill set and shop needs.

Electrics Shop duties include: hanging, focusing, or striking of lighting fixtures, installation of temporary show related lighting, sound or special effects, repair or maintenance of lighting, sound and/or projection equipment, and other assignments based upon skill set and shop needs.

• Attend non-revenue generating sporting events for free.
