West Workshop is a small architecture and design studio specializing in the hospitality, custom residential and adaptive reuse sectors with offices in Washington, DC, Raleigh, NC and Ft. Wayne, IN. This position is for a remote employee. Ideally you are based in NC.
We have a need to fill a full‑time position for a Project Designer with 5‑8 years of professional experience. The position offers opportunities to collaborate directly with the firm’s owner and with clients on a variety of project types and is suited to those who are able to work independently on multiple projects.
Desired qualities, skills and qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Commercial Construction. Residential experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or higher
- Fluent in English
- Have experience putting together a set of construction documents, in Revit, from concept through completion. Please send us your best examples.
- Basic construction knowledge is necessary. We’ll teach you the rest.
- Working knowledge of Sketch Up and/or Rhino is a super plus.
- We assume you know Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and you’ll be open to expanding your skillset with those programs.
- Ability to research materials, products, and building systems throughout the design and construction phases.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage tasks.
- Strong communication and coordination skills. You will be required to talk with collaborators, clients and consultants on a weekly basis.
- Have an authorization to work in the United States.
