Wake Med Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 450 physicians. Our organization values quality, caring, and compassionate physicians and is committed to providing state‑of‑the‑art health care. We are seeking physicians who have completed fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology to join our group in Raleigh, NC. An interest in GI Oncology is a plus.
Our medical oncology team comprises 6 physicians and 12 APPs, with 2 additional oncologists anticipated to join in the coming months. Candidates should be comfortable working with other specialists, including surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, gastroenterology, radiation oncology, and more. We have a robust referral system from Wake Med‑employed GI physicians and independent gastroenterologists.
Our surgeons provide trauma/emergency general surgery, colorectal, breast, thoracic, minimally invasive, and bariatric surgery. Two surgical oncologists are slated to join in Spring/Summer 2025. We maintain a weekly GI tumor board, high‑volume interventional and nuclear radiology center with radiotheranostics on‑site, and are building a robust oncology clinical research program. Clinical trials experience is preferred but not required.
There is an opportunity to teach Campbell University medical students, Wake Med Internal Medicine residents, and to develop initiatives to expand quality oncologic care in the Triangle region. A typical full‑time schedule is approximately 40 hours per week: 36 clinical contact hours and 4 hours for administrative tasks. Qualified candidates must be BE/BC.
Requirements- Licensed Medical Physician and Board Certification in Hematology/Oncology.
- Doctorate (MD/DO) required.
- Fellowship/Internship/Residency in Hematology/Oncology required.
- Board Eligible (BE)/Board Certified (BC) status required.
