Wake Emergency Physicians, PA (WEPPA) is an independent group of over 135 board-certified emergency medicine physicians and over 115 advanced practice providers in Raleigh, NC. Though WEPPA was founded in Wake County, we’ve been busy growing and we now staff several emergency departments in neighboring Johnston, Nash, Granville, Wayne and Lenoir counties. In addition to eight emergency departments within the Wake Med Health and Hospital system in Raleigh, we currently staff two emergency departments within the Johnston UNC Health Care system in Clayton and Smithfield (30 and 45 minutes from central Raleigh respectively), as well as the emergency departments at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC (50 mins from central Raleigh), UNC Health Wayne Emergency Department in Goldsboro, NC (1 hour from Central Raleigh), and UNC Health Lenoir Emergency Department in Kinston, NC, (1 hour and 25 minutes from Central Raleigh) and Granville Medical Center in Oxford, NC (1 hour from central Raleigh).

The staffing environments range from more rural centers and freestanding emergency departments staffed by one physician assistant and/or nurse practitioner and one physician working side by side to a large Level 1 Trauma Center with many providers spread across multiple different areas.

Along with this growth, we’ve developed our Physician Assistant program into an increasingly advanced, but supportive and collegial, learning-rich environment, with the goal of helping to train highly skilled PAs interested in making a career in emergency medicine.

WEPPA offers full-time physician assistants a generous salary and benefits package including a choice of Medical Plans, one with a $2,400 annual HSA Contribution or the other which is a PPO plan, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care FSA, $3,000 CE allowance, CE hours for WEPPA CE conferences, Paid Time Off (PTO) and an excellent 401k Plan which includes Profit Sharing.

$7,500 relocation reimbursement is available for those who qualify.
