Job Overview

The Middle School Principal is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for guiding the philosophy, culture, and operations of the Middle School in alignment with St. David’s mission and values. This role requires a visible, collaborative leader who fosters a vibrant, faith‑centered community where students grow in faith, virtue, and knowledge.

Essential Job duties
  • Lead and inspire Middle School faculty and staff, ensuring alignment with school mission and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee all aspects of the division: academics, co‑curricular programs, student life, and discipline.
  • Engage actively in Middle School life—classrooms, events, and daily interactions with students and families.
  • Promote a culture of hospitality and compassionate accountability.
  • Manage policies, procedures, and budget for the division.
  • Communicate proactively with all constituents and ensure safety across programs and events.
  • Partner with Admissions and Advancement to support enrollment and development initiatives.
  • Serve as an ambassador for St. David’s internally and externally, cultivating school spirit and community partnerships.
  • Collaborate with other division leaders and execute initiatives directed by the Head of School.
  • Supervise curriculum development and implementation for the Middle School in collaboration with other academic leaders.
  • Evaluate faculty performance and support professional growth.
  • Ensure accurate academic records, grading, and reporting. Oversee daily operations and maintain a safe, supportive, faith‑based learning environment.
  • Communicate programs, expectations, and policies clearly to faculty, students, and parents.
  • Mentor teachers on classroom management and instructional practices.
  • Collaborate on teacher orientation, training, and evaluations.
  • Assist with admissions and student placement.
  • Participate in hiring and retention decisions.
  • Partner with families to support the healthy development of all middle school students.
