Location: Raleigh, NC
Schedule: Maximum 20 hours per week, 4‑hour shift minimum
- Instruction: Deliver high‑quality climbing instruction, covering knot tying, belaying (top‑rope and lead), proper use of equipment, and climbing technique.
- Education: Advance participants’ technical skills, risk management, and equipment knowledge.
- Climbing Safety: Monitor and verify correct belay techniques and safe climbing practices, ensuring adherence to all safety rules and operational guidelines.
- Conflict Resolution: Mediate conflicts and manage participant behavior to maintain a positive experience.
- Facility Operations: Use Inno Soft Fusion to check‑in climbers upon arrival and verify membership status.
- Equipment: Manage checkout and inventory of rental equipment—harnesses, shoes, and chalk—using Inno Soft Fusion.
- Operational Support: Assist with program registration, equipment checkout, program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, inviting climbing center environment.
- Guideline Enforcement: Enforce Wellness and Recreation area guidelines.
- Risk Management: Implement emergency action plan procedures and maintain emergency readiness.
- Training and Meetings: Attend required training and meetings.
- Community: Build professional relationships with co‑workers, participants, and guests.
- Support: Perform other related duties to support department functioning.
- License or Certification: First Aid and Adult CPR/AED certifications must be current.
- Experience: Current full‑time NC State student, enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate or 9 graduate credit hours.
- Time Commitment: Minimum one four‑hour shift per week.

Loud and busy environment requiring strong communication and observation skills. - Schedule flexibility needed to cover early mornings, late nights, weekends, and university breaks.
- Safety:
Follow emergency action plan to mitigate climbing hazards.
