Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part‑time faculty to teach Anthropology classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part‑time, temporary basis.

Responsibilities- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
- Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
- Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
- Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
- Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
- Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
- Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up‑to‑date and appropriate
- Attends professional development opportunities when possible
- Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
- Be innovative, creative, motivated
- Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
- Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
- Good organizational skills
- Knowledge of and familiar with technology and software including computers and web‑based resources such as Black Board
- Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
- Master’s degree in Anthropology OR a Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Anthropology
- Unofficial college transcripts must be uploaded with your application or submitted to the HR office prior to consideration for interview
- Community College teaching experience
- Teaching experience in Anthropology
- Knowledge of Blackboard and online teaching experience
