BSW Practicum Coordinator School of Social Work

North Carolina State University is a premier, research-focused (R1) public land-grant institution located in the Research Triangle Area, in Raleigh, North Carolina. The School of Social Work offers undergraduate and graduate education to over 300 students. We invite applications for an open-rank professional-track position. The faculty member in this position will serve as BSW Practicum Coordinator, collaborating with local agencies to arrange and support undergraduate practicum placements.

The typical teaching load of 4 courses per semester will be reduced to account for practicum coordination responsibilities. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching and advising and may be expected to participate actively in community extension, engagement, and service to the school, college, university, and profession. The position requires a master’s degree in social work and 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience.

• A Master’s degree in social work and at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience is required for the rank of Lecturer.
• A Master’s degree in social work, at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience, and 5 years of college–level teaching experience are required for the rank of Senior Lecturer.
• A PhD, MSW, or equivalent terminal degree appropriate to the field, and at least 2 years of post-master’s-degree social work practice experience, is required for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
