Poole College of Management has six academic departments:
Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Technology Analytics and Operations ( ITAO ), Marketing, Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship ( MIE ). We offer bachelor’s degrees in accounting, business administration, and economics; master’s degrees in accounting, business administration ( MBA ), economics, and management (including specialized degrees); as well as joint doctoral degrees in economics and operations research. Among our non-degree programs, we offer Executive Education and graduate certificates.
The college houses three initiatives fostering research, learning, and corporate engagement. Faculty in the Department of Accounting lead the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative, which works closely with executives and boards in helping them identify and manage risks important to their strategic success. Poole College and the Department of Accounting are fully accredited by the AACSB .

The Department of Accounting in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting
, with an anticipated start date of August 2027
. The department welcomes applications from both emerging scholars entering their first faculty appointment and experienced Assistant Professors.

• Develop and maintain a high-quality, impactful research program in accounting resulting in publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and consistent with the expectations of an R1 research university.
• Deliver high-quality instruction in accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including the Master of Accounting ( MAC ) and MBA programs.
• Contribute to teaching needs in areas such as managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, analytics, artificial intelligence, and related areas.
• Contribute to the academic mission of the department, college, and university through service and professional engagement.
• Collaborate effectively with faculty and contribute to a collegial, intellectually engaging, and interdisciplinary academic environment.
• Engage with students, faculty, and other stakeholders in ways that advance the teaching, research, and service missions of the department.
