NC State Board of Elections is seeking an Application Architect contractor for an approximately 12 month engagement for the Election Voter Registration Database project.
Location note: Only local candidates that live within 60 miles of downtown Raleigh will be considered for this position. Please list where your candidate is currently located in the Skills tab question section.
NCSBE is looking for an application architect to help evaluate and choose a development platform for our replacement enterprise database application (SEIMS). The primary role is to design the development platform and application environments which include production, testing and development. This position must demonstrate a thorough understanding of project management principles to plan and coordinate large and complex technical changes and implementations in this large system development project.
This position must also be responsible to develop requirements and evaluate competing application and development solutions objectively, and manage system events and outages effectively through resolution.

Skills required
- Data modeling and creating data flow diagrams
- Understanding Frameworks
- Ability to use a variety of design tools
- Knowledge of UML
- Requirements analysis and management
- Ability to visualize complex issues
- Great communication and documenting skills
