Civil Project Engineer III

Job Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer III to join our Public Land Development team in Raleigh, NC
. The qualified individual will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial and public land development projects, including site civil design, permitting, and use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

• Designing site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems using Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
• Performing engineering calculations and solving real‑world design challenges.
• Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
• Conducting research and writing objective reports to support project completion.
• Assisting with cost estimates and construction planning.
• Supporting field inspections and data collection.
• Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver high‑quality results.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in land development engineering, including public, residential, commercial, or mixed‑use projects.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and/or other CAD software.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
