This role will guide an engineering team responsible for delivering high-performance AC and DC power conversion platforms for next-generation energy applications.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineering leader with deep expertise in power electronics design and system integration. This individual should bring both technical and leadership skills to drive projects from concept through production, ensuring robust, reliable, and industrial-grade results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in designing and developing advanced power conversion systems aligned with product and business objectives.
- Direct trade-off studies, system specifications, and requirements definition to ensure scalable and reliable designs.
- Provide technical direction in converter topologies such as buck/boost, interleaved, DAB, LLC, and H-bridge.
- Guide the application of advanced switching devices (Si, GaN, SiC) in high-power platforms.
- Oversee PCB design, EMC mitigation, and safety compliance in mixed-signal, high-noise environments.
- Champion thermal management strategies to ensure system performance and longevity.
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineering teams on integrated product development.
- Support full lifecycle validation including simulation, prototyping, and system-level testing.
- Manage external partners for prototype builds, supply chain support, and cost/schedule control.
- Drive best practices in DFM/DFT, quality assurance, and reliability engineering.
- Facilitate new product introduction and ensure smooth transfer from design to production.
- Foster innovation, mentoring, and technical excellence within the team.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with strong focus in power electronics.
- 15+ years of experience in high-power, high-voltage system design, ideally in grid-tied or DC distribution applications.
- 5+ years of proven leadership in managing teams and projects.
- Broad expertise across digital, analog, and embedded control methods for power systems.
- Track record of delivering industrial-grade products through full lifecycle, from concept through end-of-life.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment typical of a growth-focused organization.
