Project Mechanical Engineer - (Retail, Workplace, Education, Transit)

Arcadis is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team within the North America Places group. The role sits within the Places Global Business Area (GBA) and focuses on new and redeveloped Data Centers, Transit Facilities, Commercial & Retail, Mixed‑Use Residential, Institutional/Educational, and Social Infrastructure developments.
The Engineer will provide first‑class solutions to internal and external clients through technical expertise in mechanical engineering and related building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping. You will deliver sustainable, high‑quality deliverables from front‑end planning reports to issue‑for‑construction document packages. This key location‑based position is based in Raleigh, NC, and may involve travel throughout the United States up to 20% of the time.
- Sustainable electrical engineering expertise: develop engineering reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications directly and through team members.

Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant MEP experience in Retail, Workplace, Transit, and Education.
- Professional Engineer licence in North Carolina.
- Effective communication of client needs and technical solutions.
- Experience with Autodesk Platforms, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- BS/BE or MS/ME in engineering, or equivalent.
- Prior work with Arcadis (including legacy CRTKL and IBI) architects.
- Experience in full‑service consulting design firms and coordination with in‑house A/E resources.
- Adaptability to new digital tools such as AI to evolve delivery.
- Practical sustainability and carbon‑reduction experience.
- Experience in urban environments implementing transformative solutions.
- Experience with user‑experience‑centric projects requiring focused engineering solutions.

The salary range for this role is $80,000–$130,000, with actual compensation based on experience, education, budget, and project location.
