What is your impact?

Are you ready to lead high‑voltage innovation and shape the future of power infrastructure? As the Lead Primary Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead the design and installation of substation layouts for projects ranging from 765 kV to 11 kV. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with peers such as Project Lead Engineers, BIM Engineers, Protection & Control Engineers, and Civil Engineers.

What

will you do? Primary Engineering & Design
  • Lead the development of substation physical layout designs, including general arrangements, grounding, conduit, and cable plans.
  • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Technical Oversight & Collaboration
  • Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams to integrate primary engineering with protection, control, civil, and structural designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations.
Project Execution & Delivery
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for engineering tasks.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address technical challenges or delays.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including BOMs, drawings, and technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support QA/QC processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Growth & Leadership Development
  • Take ownership of your professional development with a clear path toward leadership roles.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Linxon's engineering practices and innovation roadmap.
  • Represent Linxon in technical forums, client meetings, and industry events as needed.
Who you are?
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field (master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in substation design or high‑voltage engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools; experience with BIM is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IEEE, NEC, NESC, and utility standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • PE license or eligibility to obtain one is highly desirable.
  • Experience with outdoor and indoor GIS applications. Specifically on indoor applications, a good understanding of the necessary building infrastructure to support GIS is required (e.g. foundation requirements, wall penetrations, embedded steel supports, overhead cranes, maintenance access, etc.).
  • Experience in HV power cable system applications, including cable vault layouts, cable restraint design, and GIS sealing end/air termination applications.
