Salary: $95,000 – $100,900
OverviewAs a Campus Planner, you will guide long‑term development and strategic initiatives across NC State University, shaping the physical campus environment.
Responsibilities- Translate the university’s strategic plan into campus facilities plans.
- Develop and lead architectural and space studies, including building interior and MEP systems analysis.
- Provide design solutions for building architecture, interior spaces, and land use design in accordance with the Physical Master Plan.
- Assist in recommending implementation of the Physical Master Plan through schematic designs, feasibility studies, and development plans.
- Coordinate with campus leadership, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to assemble decisions and represent the university as an expert.
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize, anticipate issues, and develop detailed action plans with minimal oversight.
- Provide project management oversight and may supervise lower‑level staff.
- Contribute to major campus planning efforts, manage implementation of projects/plans, and maintain approval authority.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
- Experience managing multiple capital projects and prioritizing work.
- Strong working knowledge of architecture and/or engineering principles; familiarity with building codes and standards.
- Proven experience developing planning and design strategies for varied building types.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to evaluate, develop, and manage processes, procedures, and guidelines related to campus planning and development.
- Valid driver’s license required; NC driver’s license required within 60 days of hire.
- Experience with architecture design for complex projects and strategic planning for the physical campus.
- Experience with university design and planning projects as a consultant or institutionally.
