Bridge Engineer

HDR is a transportation solutions firm that designs, builds and operates transportation infrastructure. As a bridge engineer, you will help shape resilient systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently and sustainably.
Responsibilities- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to bridge and related highway and railway projects.
- Design bridge systems (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental, cable), box culverts, and highway/rail interchange components.
- Develop structural details using specialized design and analysis software; perform load calculations.
- Assist with geometric layout and quantity development for bridge provisions.
- Review, assign work and/or check calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in bridge design.
- Local candidate preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Previous experience in bridge design.
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE or P.Eng).
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-Multi Pier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP
2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, sp Column, STLBridge
LRFD, or STLBridge. - Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley Open Bridge Designer, Open Bridge Modeler, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil3D.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Micro Station, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design.
- Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
- Experience managing junior staff.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
