Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician II in Charlotte, NC. This role follows an in-office work model, requiring regular attendance at field locations or in the Charlotte, NC office.

GFT is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician II to join our Construction Services Team in Charlotte, NC
.

• Data collection of underground utilities by means of pipe and cable locators, ground penetrating radar, and vacuum excavation.
• Communicate between team members both written and verbal.
• Ensure SUE field health and safety compliance in conjunction with supervisors.
• Maintain records, prepare reports and prepare correspondence as needed related to the completion of work assignments.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

• A minimum of 2-3 years SUE or utility location experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Knowledge of ground penetrating radar, cable locating equipment and vacuum excavation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decision in a timely manner.
• Willingness to adhere to policies and procedures as directed by supervision.
• Ability to coordinate and work in a team environment.
• Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, plotter, facsimile, copy machine, etc.).
• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, learns from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
• Advocates for inclusion in the workplace, fostering a diverse and equitable environment for all employees, partners, clients, and communities served by GFT.

• DOT experience is a plus
• Industrial site experience is a plus
• Experience in land surveying is a plus

The compensation range for this position is $30/hour - $35/hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
