Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a Hydraulic Design Engineer to lead H&H design for transportation infrastructure, stormwater drainage, and flood mitigation projects. The individual will work closely with our Transportation Design Department on roadway/highway, municipal street, and pedestrian (greenways, multi-use trails) projects, as well as flood mitigation alternatives design. Knowledge of NCDOT design standards and practices and experience in project development workflow are preferred for the position.

This position is for the Raleigh, NC area, or other Summit NC offices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field
• Hydraulic Design - bridges, culverts, stormwater drainage
• 3+ years of progressive hydrologic and hydraulic design experience
• EI Required; PE preferred
• Experience with GIS, Open Roads Designer, or Civil3D
• Initiative to learn, grow, and communicate effectively

Preferred Skills and

Qualifications:

• HEC-RAS (2D) flood modeling
• BMP inspection and design
• CMF certification
• Interaction with clients and public agencies
