Our client, a leader in medical device innovation, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Advanced Development Department supporting research, design, and manufacturing of cutting‑edge medical devices. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, innovative thinking, and collaborative skills, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

Hybrid role: Flexible Schedule - Part‑Time 3 days in office, averaging 20 hr/week
Location: Raleigh, NC

Pay Range: $65.00/hr w2

What's the Job?
  • Lead technical development of system features and functions for medical devices, collaborating across engineering teams.
  • Manage project timelines and team members to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
  • Develop and test innovative concepts, ensuring alignment with clinical and business needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the product development lifecycle, adhering to GDP and GMP standards.
  • Design and execute validation tests, develop test plans, and oversee prototype testing and manufacturing processes.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and manufacturing within the medical device or component development industry.
  • Experience with design control, verification, validation, and manufacturing process development.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works and understanding of ISO and FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, die casting, metal stamping, and machining.
