As a candidate for this job, you will have experience in construction methods and materials, basic construction safety, and be capable of leading by example and earning the respect of your coworkers. As you develop in this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Stormwater Asset Management Inspections Group with camera inspections and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure within the City of Raleigh’s Right of Way.
Your knowledge and expertise will be required to work with multiple CCTV Inspection platforms and field collection technologies to perform condition assessments of stormwater infrastructure. Your expertise will eventually extend to special function equipment, such as snow and ice removal equipment that may be required in emergency situations. Additionally, you will be ambitious and proactive by undertaking other assigned duties as required and seeking opportunities to improve yourself and those around you.
This position may involve working in confined spaces, including underground drainage structures. In this position, you are required to work extended hours on rotating shifts during emergency situations and inclement weather. Joining our Transportation Maintenance Division will provide an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as sidewalks, curb and gutter, asphalt, medians, and storm drains.
As a member of our 222 person staff, you will contribute to maintenance of 1,130 miles of streets and sidewalks; the upkeep of over 33,000 curb ramps; and the protection of 3.2 million linear feet of stormwater pipes connecting more than 32,000 drainage inlets.
The Transportation Stormwater Asset Management Inspections Unit is responsible for performing daily inspections to trace conditions of the City’s stormwater assets. Stormwater assets are defined as pipes, drains, and structures of all sizes that make up the City’s stormwater system.

- Performs Pipe Video Inspections; primarily Pole Camera and Crawler Camera;
Operate various pipe inspection equipment and locate equipment, while meeting inspection production goals - Performs ArcGIS collection using mobile devices
